Lest we forget

Visited Taiping War Cemetery last weekend. I came across one particular gravestone. Inscribed on the white stone, "Federated Malay States Volunteer" insignia and it belongs to Private Abdul Rahman Ahmad. Checked further today at Commonwealth Graves Commission and found out a little bit more detail about him. He was from 4th Battalion (Pahang) FMSVF and died in action on 1/1/1942 at the age of 19 defending my country.

Their name liveth forever more. Indeed.

Al-fatihah.

Hi bubbles,

Been there before, read a few inscriptions like that. Asked myself - these people died in their youth defending the country, what was I doing at the same age? Pegi kelas, lepak library, balik hostel tido, hujung minggu tengok wayang. Rasa termalu sekejap.

jie: asking the same question myself when i was walking between the stones.

They sacrificed themselves 60 years ago just for us to be able to go to class, lepak kat library, balik hostel tido, hujung minggu tengok wayang.

p.s kalau dating dgn marka kat kubur to ok ka? hehehe...
