Takziah untuk Lady D for the sudden passing of her dear husband.

Just few days ago, I talked about missing the 'tepung gomak' boys so much and Alhamdulillah,syukur to Allah, I'll be meeting them tomorrow. They are back in KL with their mother (albeit Zahairi) , as their grandpa is scheduled for bypass operation at 11 am tomorrow.

I'll be their babysitter tomorrow.

Travelog Haji: Mengubah Sempadan Iman

Saya akan ke Ipoh petang ini untuk menghadiri Majlis Perayaan Jubli Emas STAR Ipoh yang akan berlangsung esok.

Ke sana, saya akan tumpang kereta rakan sekolah dan sudah berjanji dengan beliau untuk berjumpa di Stesen LRT Sentul. Rancang saya untuk mengisi masa sementara menunggu ketibaan beliau pada pukul 8 malam ini ialah dengan menghabiskan pembacaan buku Travelog Haji tulisan Prof Muhd Kamil Ibrahim.

Namun hajat itu tidak kesampaian kerana saya sudah menghadiahkan buku itu sebentar tadi kepada rakan sepejabat yang akan menunaikan haji pada tahun ini. Saya doa dan harap agar beliau membacanya dihujung minggu ini dan berikan pendapatnya tentang buku ini minggu depan. Saya pasti buku ini dapat meleraikan kerisauannya untuk bertandang ke tanah suci Makkah.

Saya tidak mampu menghabiskan bacaan saya malam tadi bukan kerana mengantuk tetapi menangis teresak-esak apabila habis bab yang ke-19!

Saya sudah email pada Prof. Muhd Kamil untuk membeli lagi 5 buah buku terus daripada beliau untuk dihadiahkan pada ibu saya, kawan-kawan. Saya sudah terima 3 buah buku dan dihadiahkan pula sebuah buku oleh Prof.Muhd Kamil (Terima kasih tiada terhingga!).

Semalam saya hadiahkan sebuah kepada saudara Zulkifli dari kumpulan muzik Dewangga Sakti, kerana sudah berniat untuk berkongsi kegembiraan membaca buku ini dengan rakan ulat buku saya ini!

Hari ini saya hadiahkan pula pada rakan sepejabat dan saya sudah telefon ibu saya (yang sudah pun menunaikan haji pada tahun 2000) dan memberitahunya yang saya akan mengepos buku itu secepat mungkin. Seorang rakan blogger dan bapanya akan menerima buku yang sama. Dan rakan blogger di perantauan juga akan terima sebuah buku ini.

Kalau ditanya kenapa saya berbuat demikian ( saya cukup kedekut untuk beri buku koleksi peribadi pada orang lain), saya bukan mahu menunjuk-nunjuk, tetapi mahu berkongsi kegembiraan saya membaca buku ini!

Ambillah peluang untuk beli buku ini nanti pada harga RM26.00 di pasaran. Saya dengar khabar dari Prof. Muhd Kamil, buku ini sudah hampir kosong di stor PTS dan saudara Zulkifli dan saya sendiri sudah puas mencarinya di kedai buku namun tidak berjumpa.

I love these three tepung gomaks with all my heart. Can't wait to hug them when they will return home early next year. These are the boys (except the youngest one) who keep me company during my 'lonely' days in Laos.

Told by the dad, Zarif Afiq the youngest is "the king" now. I really thought the second one, Zakwan (there he is in the middle) is the "king". Rupanya ado lagi yang Ya Rabbi HEROnya!

Glorious Raya Ever

Whatever served on the table during 1st Raya up to 7th Raya gone ‘licin’ at the end of the day. Rendang is quite good this year.

Finished most of the books brought back for Raya while devouring “Asian Food Channel” on Astro. It’s channel 703. Write it down please.

Managed to spoil some people’s Raya mood with Exclusive-Raya-SMS wishes from me and “Fasha Sandha”.

Most of the family members and in laws gathered at our place – except one ( can’t do much about both of them– it’s best to let them live in their own cocoon).

Managed to do “Fitrah Kasih” for my mom with her long lost friend. Interesting enough she happened to be the mother to a blogger friend. What a small world!

Strangely, funny things do happened. A neighbour of mine who kinda forgets his ‘roots’ after he got married and a decent job, suddenly turned up in front of my house after all these years. Very pelik but it’s raya, and being a good host, I left my “bergedel” to my sister and welcomed him in. After much customary how-many-kids and how’s-your-mom thingy, things got very clear when he suddenly asked me the questions.

“Eh, kau pakai kereta apa sekarang?”

(What??? You came to my house after all these years and this is what you wanted to know?)

Ah! No surprise now. He is still the same old him.

1. Pais Patin Tempoyak. The best one can only be found in Jerantut (My mom lah)
2.Sambal Hitam (Sambal Ikan Bilis + belimbing jeruk). My late great grandma used to make a heaven one. It's a traditional Pahang dishes originated from Raub (what they say lah)
3.Aglio Olio (buat sendiri punya!)
4. Lidah Goreng Chowkit.....
5. Accompanied by Singgang Ikan Chowkit. (Kedai Mokcik dekat belakang Pizza Hut Chowkit)

1. Poached eggs sandwich. ( I learnt how to make one ( good one!) from fellow clown, Tavis Beem at The Celebration Barn Theatre, Maine)
2.Donner kebab from some Turkish joint near Alhambra Theatre, Bradford. (Wahai tikar terbang, fly me to Bradford please!)
3. Pulut rendang daging Arwah Pak Mansor Drebar Bas Sekolah ( Kedai Imai, Bandar Lama Jerantut)
4. Egg on toast from Medan Selera MBI Ipoh, sebelah Masjid Negeri.
5. Lontong Pasar SS14, PJ. (queue starts at 6.30 am beb!)
6. I got 6 items, So what? Cakoi and Nam Saa ( Chinese tea). Part of my daily breakfast routine when I was in Vientiane, Laos few years ago.

It's kind of my routine ( to avoid nosy relatives and visitors) to snuggle myself with books during Raya. Apart from interesting Peter Walsh's It's All too Much, I am bringing back Peter Han's Nobodies to Somebodies and Britannica's Iran.

stupid says the stupidest things

"Don't worry, the government will sponsor the face change surgery if they come forward to testify" said this politician.

" And we will protect them under Witness Protection Program", he added.

Bollocks! Too much "Face Off" and "Starsky and Hutch", I guess.

mixer

"Bawak balik mixer.nak buat choc moist cake". Got this SMS from my eldest sister in Seremban.





"Mixer mana?Nak buat kuih balik raya ni". Came another one from my younger sister in Bangi.





Tempting to reply them,





"Beli la mixer sendiri beb!".

Of course the reply from me is very PR one so that they won't remember at all to ask for 'duit raya' for their kids.
