Road to Nottingham (1)

I have started to find out more about CSR. Luckily, I know a friend who does CSR work for GLCs and will meet her soon over lunch to get the whole picture on CSR initiatives in Malaysia.

So far, I found out that the university does offer scholarship for students from developing countries. So it was quite a good news.

Surprisingly, reading materials on CSR are quite limited as the subject is quite new.I have checked Kinokinuya KLCC and can't even find one book on CSR. Anyway, I have ordered the books from Kino's book service and will get the books in few weeks time.

Salam drbubbles,
Actually it was straight forward for me. My study (MSc in Applied Oceanography) was very much related to the job and experience that I have at that time. I have a friend who had also received the same degree from that University. Following his foot step, I applied for the course. It was accepted because I had more than 10 years of experience working in the same field. Once accepted, it was then easy to get the Navy to sponsor my study, because it was budgeted for every year, to sent a certain number of officers for further studies, overseas. Hope you will find it easy to get a sponsorship, too.

Is,

FYI. Prof Kamil, the writer for Travelog Haji has also co-written a book on CSR. The title is CSR Disclosure in Malaysia, published by Upena, UiTM.

Tanggungjawab sosial (secara) korporat, CSR....hmmmm.....not a CPR, thats for sure. Sounds political science-psychology-PR-human science to me.....maybe u cud dig more relevant and related reading materials from UM, UKM, UPM and UIA libraries.

Honestly, Kino is not so much a research-book centre. Self-help stuff, of course, but i think u need to go to university libraries to get some journal papers and maybe some big companies/organizations that are equipped with their own resource centre.

Hopefully u will persevere on this knowledge seeking and enriching journey and may Allah eases your efforts towards that.

PS: teringat minah2 paki Peace Studies at bradford uni.
